Colton and Sadie have been bonding. She gives him smiles, coos, stares (a lot of these!), screams, wide eyed glances, and lots of arm waves and leg kicks.
Colton loves to 'play' with Sadie. He tickles her feet, squeezes her hand, kisses her head, and squeals with laughter when she makes funny baby noises. He cracks up when she does tummy time since she usually ends up chewing on her arm.
I love that he loves her so much. He's always asking for 'baby' if she isn't in the room. He likes checking on his baby sister and will run and find her. He even climbs things to say hi to her...she gets a wave and a "hi, hi, hi, hi" from Colton each time he finds her. He can't quite say her name yet, but his attempts sound like 'daddy' or 'adie'.
He likes to pretend to offer her an animal cracker or sippy cup of milk. She's been pretty lucky (so far) to not end up with any of these things in her mouth. He is also very sweet to share his precious "wu-wu" (blanket) with her when he wakes up. When we took a music class in June he always tried to share the musical props with her. Very sweet.

Because she really wanted to play with his cars
Colton is still sometimes very unaware of Sadie. If she's in my lap and he wants to climb up too, he tends to put a hand down on her, pressing on her with all of his weight. Poor Sadie. Sometimes we can't rescue her fast enough.
Since David and I get such a kick out of her smiling at us, Colton thinks its pretty neat too. We're always careful to turn to him and ask him to smile for us too. We end up getting a squinty, silly smile from Colton every time.
Oops! One of Colton's first attempts to hold Sadie and he let go, so her head fell way back, which he found VERY funny!
Colton loves to do a family roll call - about 20 times a day. He'll look at me and start with Daddy? I say, Daddy's at work. Baby? Baby is next to you. Mama? I'm right here. And then he thinks its funny to point to himself. And lately he's been asking for cousins and grandparents.
Here's a few more recent pics...
