Colton's Big Fish

Colton and his friend Roman went fishing with their dad's at the first of June down at the lakehouse in Breckenridge.  They had a great time fishing and playing in the water slide.  The fish were biting and Colton ended up catching his biggest fish ever......a huge carp.  What an big and ugly fish it was and Colton was not in favor of getting to close to it when it was time to take a picture with his trophy fish.

AHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Sandhills with daddy

Daddy blessed mommy in a HUGE way a couple of weeks ago by taking the kids out to the sandhills. Mommy got to stay home and rest, read, and be in a very quiet, peaceful house for a few hours all alone!  Thank you daddy!
The kids had a great time and they keep asking to go back.  We try and appease them by taking them to a park in town with sand.  :)

I love the pictures David captured of fun in the sand!  He was exhausted after helping both kids up the first few hills, so they spent most of their time sitting and playing.

Buried in the sand!

Some news....

We have some fun news...
This is how I told David...
It was lots of fun to surprise him! He thought it was too early to test, but I knew it wasn't.
We are thrilled, excited, and blessed to know we'll be welcoming a third little one into the family in September! My due date is September 20th....and we AREN'T going to find out what we're having...we're waiting to be surprised at delivery. :)

Colton and Sadie are both very excited to welcome a new baby. This was us sitting down to tell them one day.
Smiling big with baby brother or sister's first photos.
I'm 17 weeks and hoping to start feeling better soon. :) I'm definitely showing. Colton and Sadie ask about the baby a lot...and are warned often not to pounce on my stomach. I guess they're just preparing the baby for life on the outside as the youngest of 3!

Family fun at home

Here's some pictures of life at home...

both Colton and Sadie love dressing up, putting on hats, shoes, superhero costumes...
they both like the sound my tap shoes make on our tile floor
I especially love it when Colton pulls on my boots (pictured below) and tells me he's a cowboy! I haven't had the heart to tell him those don't really make him look like a cowboy! They both like daddy's old big bird hat that he wore as a kid.

Before bed we usually play a few games. They both like duck, duck, goose. Colton always wants us to pick him so he can run; and Sadie usually just walks around and around the circle calling out duck. We have to encourage her to say goose, then she falls to the floor in a ball so she doesn't get chased!
Oh how we love this sweet face!
It looks like she's cheering on the Baylor Bears.

Getting the kids really wired before bedtime!
She loves talking with her hands.
Love these two.
Sweet face
We've had lots of pretty days lately, and the kids enjoy being outside and especially love anything involving water.
We also love when friends come over to play!

January & February happenings

We had a fun January and February! Here's some pics from our travels and events.

At the beginning of January we met my dear friend Trisha and her precious girls Mia and Maggie at the lakehouse in Breckenridge. Colton and Mia are still great friends, so we love getting together to let them play. It was a fun three days full of silly, busy kids!

All decked out in life jackets to head down to the boat dock.
Sadie fell down and was pretty frustrated when she couldn't get back up!
Hanging out in the backyard
Sweet friends hugging (I'm sure we asked them to do this for a picture)
Little Maggie
Fun in pajamas
They loved rides on the golf cart...
and feeding the goats and mule

Back in Midland....
after two great snow falls we had yet another one in January. This one was a record breaking 10 1/2 inches.
She loved eating snow!
When daddy got home we bundled back up and headed to our nearby park with hills (very small hills!) and tried sledding.
Sadie wasn't a fan
They are both pretty wimpy in the snow, and don't like keeping mittens on. So, we spend a lot of time getting dressed and a very short amount of time playing outside. :)
Colton and daddy built a snowman together. Colton named him Alligator.

On the road again....
at the end of January we flew to Houston to celebrate my Grandpa's 85th birthday. He preached at his church that morning, and the whole family (minus David and Colton) were there.

Grandpa opening his watch, a birthday gift from the family.
Colton spent the entire night before throwing up. So, he and daddy stayed home from church. Poor guy....it was definitely the worst tummy bug he's ever had. He felt better by the time family came over to continue the birthday celebration.

Silly Sadie with her Nana
Lots of fun playing hide and go seek in the sheets

The kids and I stayed a couple of extra days to enjoy time with family. We went to the Houston zoo one day, and the kids loved it.
The first hour we walked around and all Colton talked about was seeing alligators, so we finally found one. He loves alligators. He wasn't sure what to think about this albino one.

Back in Midland...
Fun at the park with cousins in town

These three are so silly together!
