Sure it's February and Christmas is a distant memory, but I haven't posted about our fun Christmas yet, so here goes! I wish I had it together to blog more often, but it just doesn't seem to be in me! :)
We made the LONG, LONG drive to Houston for the first time since moving to Midland. Colton was fantastic. The boy loves to watch tv, so we'd checked out movies from the library and he was content napping, eating, watching movies, and coloring the whole way there. Sweet Sadie hit hour five (of 10!) and was done. She kept grabbing her seatbelt saying, "unbuckle!"....she enjoyed a few candy canes and suckers on our drive to help her stay content. She could care less about tv at her age!
The fun part was arriving at my parent's house...they weren't expecting us until the next day, so we put Colton and Sadie on the porch and then knocked on the door. Nana opened it and was very surprised to see the kids!
Let the Christmas fun begin....
decorating cookies with Nana (pretty sure they ate more than they decorated)
playing at Nana and Pops's house
We went to see Santa in Houston. Colton really got a kick out of seeing him and was very cooperative. I think he was fascinated. ...Sadie, not so much this year...she was 19 months and very much reminded me of 15 month old Colton when he sat on Santa's lap.
Poor Sadie...I just laughed the whole time and she seemed scared to death!
Sweet boy!

And Great Grandma

We kept telling Colton he was "so handsome", so he started striking poses!

Holding a candle at the Christmas Eve service
Having fun sitting next to Uncle Harold
Patiently waiting for presents
Sadie was so cute in her little red dress

She loved (and still does) her teddy bear from her great grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa with their grandkids and great grandkids - I love this picture!

Christmas morning...he was pretty excited to find "big red", his new tricycle
Enjoying her new cradle
The fun continued when we got home. Colton got his police/fire station which he LOVES and plays with all the time!It was such a fun Christmas. Sadie and Colton were at such sweet ages this year to really enjoy everything. We really tried to talk to Colton about the real meaning of Christmas and the story of our Savior...we think he'll understand even better next year. :) We love our memories from this year!
