The kids and I headed to Houston a couple of weeks ago to spend time with my family. While there I was determined to do some fun, big city things that we've been missing the past few months. We had many things on our agenda- the aquarium, zoo, and the mall. :) We also spent lots of time with family and just loved relaxing in Houston! Mom is retiring in a few days, so we'll be taking longer trips to see family....and, I have a feeling the kids will be spending time with Nana and Pops in Houston by themselves. :) That will be wonderful!
As we were departing the plane the pilot saw us and invited Colton in to the cockpit! I grabbed the camera quickly to capture some shots. He was pretty fascinated and reached right out to push buttons and pull levers. :) It was definitely a fun start to our trip.

The plane ride with an 11 month old and 2 1/2 year old wasn't horrible, but there were a few harsh whispers to Colton about listening and making good choices. And lots of treats to bribe both of them with good behavior. Other passengers kept their distance (I can't imagine why) so we had a whole row to ourselves.

Our extended family is always so sweet to come visit us at mom and dad's.

Our trip to the zoo

Sadie enjoyed riding in the wagon at the zoo. We didn't get a picture, but Colton loves to throw things...out of car windows, out of the bathtub, down from his fort, etc...and we've talked with him a lot about NOT throwing things in those situations. Well, he took off his baseball hat and threw it just inside the cheetah exhibit...not in with the cheetah, but in the area separating zoo observers from the cheetah cage. Fortunately we found a long broom handle to help us get it out. He got a talking to about that one.

And, thank goodness for somebody that knew how to fix the train. We'd been talking about the train at the zoo for days and when we got there it was broken! I was devastated for Colton, but after walking around the zoo for a while it was fixed. This boy is a fan of trains and was excited to take a ride on a real train.
