Sweet Sadie has been home for almost 2 weeks and seems to be adjusting quite well to her new environment, and we are so glad to have her home! We love the latest addition to the family, she is simply precious.
We've found a few safe havens for her (also known as places her brother can't reach her). She can hang out in her crib, her pack-n-play (with the bedroom door closed), and on her playmat or bouncy seat on top of the kitchen island without fear of being smushed or attacked by big brother. Although, Colton has been showing off some new found climbing skills in his attempts to see the 'bebe', so I'm not sure how long she'll be safe in these spots.
Colton had a tough adjustment the first 3 days, but is steadily improving. We saw a side of our boy that we'd NEVER seen before (and we never want to see again)! Colton LOVES his baby sister. He calls 'bebe' when he's looking for her and loves to give kisses. LOTS and LOTS of kisses have been planted on the top of her head.
Sadie loves to sleep, eat, pee and poop. That's about all we've seen out of her so far! She's great at all 4 things! She's about 2 1/2 weeks old and had a doctor's appointment today. Our little lady is gaining some weight - she weighed 8 pounds, 9 oz (up from 8 pounds at birth) and measured 21 3/4 inches tall. She loves to be held or swaddled and is pretty relaxed most of the time. And, she's been a GREAT night sleeper so far...hoping this continues!
Our first week home Nana and Pops helped things run smoothly around the house by helping with Colton, helping with Sadie, and taking care of all meals and household duties - so grateful for their help! They left on Mothers Day and Liz arrived to take over all of the same duties last week - I have no words to truly describe how helpful they all were! We also got to spend time with Lacy, Ryan, and the kids this past weekend when they came to see Sadie. Colton loves his cousins! Heather and Hannah are coming next week and we can't wait to play!
We are blessed to have such amazing help from our family. I cannot imagine the past 2 weeks without them!
Here are a few more pictures from our first two weeks at home:

I LOVE these pictures!! Is it just me or does it look like Sadie got more of mom's coloring? I can't wait to see everyone!
