Colton turns ONE!

Colton, our sweet baby boy, has turned one!

Colton's actual birthday fell on Tuesday and we made the best of a rainy day. Our plans to head to the arboretum fell through with the onset of rain, but we ran a few errands together (not so fun for the birthday boy, but necessary!).
We played hard at home all afternoon and waited for daddy to get home from work. Colton LOVES being chased, so we crawl after him often, play toss, stack things, read books, and explore new things during our play time. He also loves to push chairs and any of his push toys. It's pretty funny to turn around and see a kitchen chair moving across the room.

We would have loved for daddy to stay home on this fun day, but he'd just taken 6 days off of work to travel to Uganda, Africa with other men and women for church, so he needed to head to work!

Once daddy got home we celebrated by opening presents and eating a yummy meal of fruit and pizza. And then, Colton got his very own mini-cake to devour. And, that he did. He loved every bite of the cake!

Colton's stats from his 12 month check-up:
Weight: 22lbs, 9 oz (45%) (we think he's a big boy, but I guess not!)
Height: 30 1/2 inches (75%) (growing tall like his daddy)

He got several shots that day and took the pain like a champ. He would not sit still (due to the fact we were there for about an hour and a half) and as we were talking to the dr. he kept pushing the rolling stool she sat on. She lost her balance a time or two. It was pretty funny - at least we thought so!

Our 12 month old is still enjoying 2 good naps a day. He is the best sleeper. We are grateful for his sleep habits. It's been so fun to watch his emerging personality. We can't get enough of this boy! What a privilege it is to raise him!

We call this his intimidating look
